By Brian Weis

Scottsdale, Ariz. (October 2, 2023) - Troon®, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, has launched its 2024 Troon Card frequent player program with more than 150 Troon-affiliated courses participating. Troon Cards are now on sale at www.TroonCard.com and can be used November 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024, providing Cardholders with preferred rates of up to 50 percent off the standard rate at participating Troon-managed and brand-affiliated courses. Troon Cards are available as a TwoSome Card (for two golfers to play and save), or a FourSome Card (for four golfers to enjoy preferred pricing), and are offered for specific states and regions of the country.

New in 2024 is the option to reserve tee times three-plus days in advance at the Troon Card rate, allowing Cardholders to reserve Troon Card tee times at 6 p.m. three-and-a-half days prior to the desired day of play (example: 6 p.m. on Monday for a Friday morning tee time). In addition, Troon Card's Best Rate Guarantee allows Troon Cardholders to book any online tee time rate four-plus days in advance and still receive 15 percent off their golf fees at check-in.

The golf industry's leading frequent player program is in its 26th year and includes more than 150 Troon-affiliated courses worldwide. State and region-specific Troon Cards available in 2024 include: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas/Missouri, New York, Midwest U.S., Northeast U.S., Southeast U.S., Tucson, and West Coast U.S. In addition, the National Troon Card offers Cardholders preferred rates at all participating Troon facilities, including properties across the continental United States, Hawaii, and international facilities. Plus, some state-specific cards also include "bonus states" so Cardholders can tee it up in neighboring states. All Troon Cards offer Troon Card rates at Troon's international locations.

A portion of proceeds from every 2024 Hawaii Troon Card sold will be donated to support Maui relief efforts. In addition, the popular and specially priced Patriot Troon Card has returned as a way of honoring and thanking first responders as well as active duty, veterans, reserve and U.S. military retirees. The Inspire Troon Card also returns in 2024 and is for healthcare professionals and teachers. Both the Patriot and Inspire Troon Card offer the same incredible benefits as a National Troon TwoSome Card, including up to 50 percent off the standard rate for the Cardholder and a guest at ALL participating Troon-managed and brand-affiliated courses around the world. A portion of all proceeds from Patriot and Inspire Troon Card sales will be donated to charitable organizations that support military and first responders (Folds of Honor Foundation), healthcare professionals (Direct Relief) and teachers (Donors Choose). Those interested in purchasing a Patriot Troon Card or an Inspire Troon Card will be required to register (free of charge) through the Sheer ID employment verification program.

The benefits of being a Troon Cardholder go beyond savings on golf. Troon Cardholders can improve their golf games by participating in complimentary clinics, play more golf with exclusive replay rates and explore the world of Troon with customized experience packages. Troon Cardholders can also treat their friends and themselves to '2 for 1' golf offers, and can celebrate their birthday in style with "birthday round" discounts. Additional Troon Card benefits include the Troon Card Facebook Group and special offers exclusively to Cardholders, 10 percent off merchandise at participating golf shops and golf course restaurants, Troon Card E-News with monthly special offers and the ability to book tee times online at www.TroonCardTeeTimes.com.

2024 Troon Cards are valid November 1, 2023 through December 31, 2024 with "early bird" pricing available through December 8, 2023. To view the entire list of participating courses, see Troon Card rates or to purchase a Troon Card online, go to www.TroonCard.com or visit any participating facility.

About: Brian Weis

Brian Weis Brian Weis is the mastermind behind GolfTrips.com, a vast network of golf travel and directory sites covering everything from the rolling fairways of Wisconsin to the sunbaked desert layouts of Arizona. If there’s a golf destination worth visiting, chances are, Brian has written about it, played it, or at the very least, found a way to justify a "business trip" there.

As a card-carrying member of the Golf Writers Association of America (GWAA), International Network of Golf (ING), Golf Travel Writers of America (GTWA), International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), and The Society of Hickory Golfers (SoHG), Brian has the credentials to prove that talking about golf is his full-time job. In 2016, his peers even handed him The Shaheen Cup, a prestigious award in golf travel writing—essentially the Masters green jacket for guys who don’t hit the range but still know where the best 19th holes are.

Brian’s love for golf goes way back. As a kid, he competed in junior and high school golf, only to realize that his dreams of a college golf scholarship had about the same odds as a 30-handicap making a hole-in-one. Instead, he took the more practical route—working on the West Bend Country Club grounds crew to fund his University of Wisconsin education. Little did he know that mowing greens and fixing divots would one day lead to a career writing about the best courses on the planet.

In 2004, Brian turned his golf passion into a business, launching GolfWisconsin.com. Three years later, he expanded his vision, and GolfTrips.com was born—a one-stop shop for golf travel junkies looking for their next tee time. Today, his empire spans all 50 states, and 20+ international destinations.

On the course, Brian is a weekend warrior who oscillates between a 5 and 9 handicap, depending on how much he's been traveling (or how generous he’s feeling with his scorecard). His signature move" A high, soft fade that his playing partners affectionately (or not-so-affectionately) call "The Weis Slice." But when he catches one clean, his 300+ yard drives remind everyone that while he may write about golf for a living, he can still send a ball into the next zip code with the best of them.

Whether he’s hunting down the best public courses, digging up hidden gems, or simply outdriving his buddies, Brian Weis is living proof that golf is more than a game—it’s a way of life.
