Description

Hidden in the tall Ponderosa Pines of Northern Arizona lays Elephant Rocks Golf Course. Players have enjoyed golf at Elephant Rocks since the early 1920s. The original stone clubhouse has remained nearly unchanged for the past 75 years and now houses a fully stocked pro-shop and bar to provide you with all your golfing desires. This great course received its name by way of the elephant shaped rocks near its entrance. From the moment you arrive at the course, you know you are somewhere special.

In 1990, the original nine holes were redesigned by Gary Panks and were given bent grass greens. Nine years later, Panks again added his touch with an additional nine holes turning the course into a true 18-hole, 6695-yard championship course, establishing it as one of the premier 18 hole golf courses in Northern Arizona. Head PGA professional, John McCahan, describes the new addition as "a good fit with the original nine. The combination of the old and new makes a great challenge for golfers of all ability".

The stunning course meanders its way through the tall Ponderosa Pines with ample bent grass greens, protected by deep bunkers and native grasses. The final three holes are a challenging finish with #16, an uphill dogleg left; followed by #17, a sloping Par 5 which appears to be a mile long off the tee; culminating at #18, a 212-yard par 3 which drops approximately 100 feet, making club selection a real challenge.

Along with the beautiful layout, Elephant Rocks offers top notch practice facilities with full scale and scenic driving, putting, and chipping facilities. Golf lessons are provided at the practice facilities by Mr. McCahan and his knowledgable staff.

The addition of our banquet pavilion in 2005 offers a great venue for you to hold all of your upcoming meetings and parties. It is available to rent year-around through the golf shop and offers a great environment for any group gathering.
